The University takes on Science and Technology as one of its substantive functions, proposing a model for the construction of collective, participatory, interdisciplinary, and transferable knowledge. The Secretariat of Research is responsible for carrying out the S&T policies and executing a set of actions that make the exercise of research, development, and technological and social linkage effective.
The Laboratory of Research in Health and Biodiversity (Spanish acronym: LISyB) specialises in the study of neglected diseases and sexually transmitted infections, biodiversity in agroecosystems, and community health and primary care approaches.
