Escuela preuniversitaria de formación profesional: una práctica educativa innovadora que la universidad genera para la inclusión de todos y todas

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic deepened pre-existing social, educationaland economic inequalities among citizens (especially among young people), generating new inequalities and posing new challenges. This global problem of growing inequality requires States and all community agents to implement public policies for the redistribution of wealth and opportunities. In this respect, universities have a historic role and duty in the planning and implementation of responses, solutions and innovative practices that seek to improve the living conditions of communities. For this reason, in response to the growing statistics of post-pandemic secondary school dropouts among young people (mostly women), the National University of Hurlingham (UNAHUR) developed an innovative strategy to leave no one behind: the "Pre-University School of Vocational Training" was born. The creation and implementation of the Pre-University School took place in April 2022 and is a cause for celebration for those of us who defend the right to education and the democratization of opportunities. It is, above all, a concrete invitation to be part of a collective training project for people between 15 and 18 years of age who, due to various circumstances in their individual trajectories, were repeatedly left out of the traditional education system.
