La cultura física en Argentina entre 1930 y 1945 : debates, leyes y tensiones

Abstract

In this article I propose to describe and analyze the multiple interpretations generated around physical culture between 1930 and 1945 in order to raise the heterogeneity of the period. The work is divided into four sections. In the first, I will describethe main characteristics of each political party or social institution operating between 1930 and 1945. In the second, I will give an account of the attempts to regulate bodies and the forms that said regulations acquire through physical culture. In the third section, I will investigate the measures that had an impact on the institutionalization of the bodies. In the last one, I will present the medical discourse as one of the most influential among those who sought to legitimize the need to promote physical culture. The sources used will be various parliamentary initiatives that had physical culture as the center of their concerns. Likewise, newspapers and publications linked to the ideological currents with performance between 1930 and 1945, will be otherprimary sources where I will seek to inquire about the existing opinions regarding physical culture in the period examined.
