Abstract

This study analyses medical, biochemical, and pharmaceutical journals in Argentina to ascertain the languages in which they accept articles and their stance on the current supremacy of English in scientific communication. The analysis encompasses 59 different journals and highlights a variety of approaches, which range from monolingual publications that defend the use of Spanish or English to multilingual journalshat include Portuguese or publish two versions of the articles in different languages. The study takes a glottopolitical approach, seeking to study interventions in the public space of language.
