Roles de género en pandemia : comunicación y prácticas de enseñanza en una escuela secundaria de Ituzaingó

Abstract

This paper investigates the representations about gender roles materialized in the beginnings of Social, Preventive and Compulsory Isolation -from March to June 2020-, in the speeches of the management team, teachers, preceptors and families of students of a secondary school located in Ituzaingó, Buenos Aires. We have analyzed the notion of “referring mother”, a category proposed by the institution to maintain virtual contact with students and families, and we address the impact of these representations on some teaching practices. We affirm that, in the period studied, the school actors / actresses have reinforced gender asymmetries through their representations is would have an impact on virtual teaching practices, reflected in the type of activities proposed and communication between the school institution, families and students.
