La liminal posición de una escritura revolucionada : gauchos y gauchas en la prensa de Francisco De Paula Castañeda

Abstract

In the last few years, there has been an important critical production around the work of Francisco de Paula Castañeda. This article recovers part of it to focus on the analysis of a specific fraction of his work: that wich can be linked, either through the poetic voice or through the mimesis of the gaucho voice, with gaucho poetry. Without wishing to cover all the texts that Castañeda wrote from a poetic voice that defines itself as gaucha, certain examples have been selected because of some particularity that makes them outstanding for two central issues for this article: the history of the gauchesca, on the one hand; and, on the other, the analysis of Castañeda´s journalistic writing as a way to intervene in the public debate on the formation of the nascent people after the May Revolution.
