The Laboratorio de Políticas Educativas (LPE) focuses on rigorous, evidence-based research in the field of education. It adopts a pluralistic approach, integrating different qualitative research traditions—ethnographic, historical, case studies, and comparative methods—and quantitative approaches—statistical models, experimental designs, and computational tools for data analysis—typical of the Social Sciences. The laboratory produces and analyzes publicly accessible educational data, combining its own datasets with comprehensive classification of official data at national and international levels. Additionally, it develops institutional articulation strategies with the scientific-technological system, public administration, and the productive sector, addressing key issues in basic and higher education, with the aim of generating applied and relevant knowledge to improve educational policies in Argentina.

Abstract

El presente informe analiza la composición de la oferta académica universitaria en Argentina a través de dos enfoques complementarios. Primero, se examina la estructura macro del sistema, destacando la distribución de la matrícula entre diversas carreras, lo que permite identificar las preferencias de los estudiantes y su relación con las necesidades productivas regionales. Segundo, se desagrega la oferta académica por niveles (pregrado y grado), modalidades (presencial y a distancia), y ramas del conocimiento, lo que ayuda a identificar vacancias temáticas y áreas con mayor demanda.
